Baby Nursery Wallpaper – Designs and Colors

It goes without saying that the design in a room can determine how put together the room looks and feels. You can have also have two completely different sensations in a room with the exact same theme, but different colors. Your baby nursery wallpaper should reflect the type of energy you want to give off in the room.

Many parents will go as far as saying that they chose a specific theme because they can just feel like their baby has this type of personality. In all fairness, we parents can sometimes sense our little one’s attitude and personality pretty early on. But let’s be real, we’re’re choosing a particular wallpaper or design because “we” like it or “we” feel like it will make the nursery that much more special. After all, our babies haven’t a clue what makes an elephant or a unicorn different.

I’ll touch on a few of the more popular themes to give you some ideas to work with. You might even come across themes that you didn’t even know existed!

Elephant Theme – Gender Neutral

Elephant Nursery WalpaperThis wallpaper theme has somehow taken the market by storm. More and more moms are choosing this design because of its natural feel. The elephant theme can also be used for either a boy or girl nursery, so it’s flexible that way.

Depending on your color scheme, you have a lot of design options to choose from. I’ve seen pink elephants, green elephants, blue elephants; Heck, I’ve even seen silver and gold elephants! The possibilities are endless.

You can also decide to have a family of elephants or just single animals. I’ve seen some really cute designs with the mommy elephant and the baby elephant having an intimate moment, or even some with all 3 parties present – mom, dad and baby. These “family” options are great as it can give a sense of completeness and you can point to each elephant and tell your baby the name of each one.

Jungle Theme – Gender Neutral

This is also a universal wallpaper theme. However, I find that more parents choose this for a boy’s nursery. But I’ve seen neutral jungle wallpaper designs that are to die for!Jungle Nursery Wallpaper

If you’re not into a specific animal and just love all of them, this is the perfect wallpaper theme for you. You can even teach your little one the names of all the animals on the wall. Soon, he or she will be calling out at “key key”, that’s baby talk for “monkey”.

There is a lot of versatility with this theme because you can choose from different animals as well. Some animals are more common like the monkey and the elephant, so you will likely find those in most of the designs. But there’s a vast amount of jungle themes out there that make the room feel like you’re walking through the amazon rain forest.

Imagine sharing a room with the coolest animals on the planet! Babies are living the life I tell you!

Unicorn Theme – Gender Neutral (Oh yes it can be 🙂 )

Unicorn WallpaperThis theme is becoming more and more popular these days with many parents choosing a unicorn themed birthday party. But many new and expecting parents are starting to choose a unicorn themed room, even for their little boys. You might think that unicorns are more “girly” because of all the pink and purple. But don’t be mistaken, boys can like those colors as well. So this theme can be gender neutral as well.

To add another component, the bright colors create interest and excitement in the baby! Babies love bright colors and are always fascinated by anything sparkly. What I’ve seen a lot of, is parents who choose this theme for their boys, they often accessorize the rest of the room with traditional “boy colors” to not have too much pink and purple. And I’ve seen some amazing decor with these ideas.

This so interesting! So many choices. I never knew.
I have a 6 year old niece. She loves unicorns. Should I do her room with unicorn wallpaper? Or is that too much for a 6 year old?

Hi there, these are some fantastic Wallpaper Ideas.

I really like the Unicorn Theme. My girl loves the theme and has received some birthday gifts with the same theme.

The Jungle theme I think looks a bit scary, at least for smaller babies.

I prefer gender-neutral themes, the kids have to follow gender rules when they grow older for enough time in their life.

It’s great to look at so many pretty nursery wallpaper ideas.

I agree with you that as they get older, society kinda pushes one color on them. So I’m all for gender neutral themes myself. Unicorn themes are on the up trend right now, and why not! The vibrant colors make for a happy, positive experience 🙂

Amazing ideas! I can’t wait to decorate my kids rooms when we move!! I think I plan on painting a mural on one wall for each bedroom but I think it will now have to tie in to the wall paper I use!

Murals can be very sentimental so I love them as well. Wallpapers do tend to be more flexible, so you can change them as your child grows, if they change their mind about what they like. So I like wallpapers for that reason 🙂
